Ein geschichtsbewusste Performance an einem geschichtsträchtigen Ort: Gestern Abend wurde die Doxumentale mit rund 300 Gästen im Atrium Tower am Potsdamer Platz eröffnet.
Berlin - A historically conscious performance at a location steeped in history:
Yesterday evening, the 3rd Doxumentale opened at the fully packed Atrium Tower on Potsdamer Platz with an atmospheric “Homage to Berlin.” In a specially developed performance, actress Barbara Sotelsek - lead actress in the crime series HINTER GITTERN and known from the Turkish feature film SON MEKTUP as well as the BBC drama series KILLING EVE - took the audience on an audiovisual journey through the many facets and eras of a city that constantly reinvents itself.
Literary texts by Paul Boldt, Franz Kafka and Erich Kästner were combined with film sequences from Wim Wenders’ WINGS OF DESIRE, Kurt Krigar’s DIE AUSSICHT and Walter Ruttmann’s BERLIN: SYMPHONY OF A GREAT CITY.
The evening was rounded off with live music by Neta Weiner and Samira Saraya. Neta Weiner is a musician, actor and director. He is co-founder and lead singer of System Ali, a multilingual Jewish-Arab hip-hop collective. Samira Saraya is an Israeli-Palestinian film, television and theater actress, filmmaker, poet, rapper and spoken-word artist.
The festival now continues in an equally multifaceted and media-rich form: from today, May 28, Doxumentale and its program of documentary films, live podcasts, readings and immersive media can be experienced at around 20 locations across Berlin until June 7.

Doxumentale (May 27 - June 7, 2026) is an international Berlin festival for documentary forms of storytelling. At the intersection of documentary film, non-fiction, podcasts and new media, the festival presents formats in which filmmakers, journalists, authors, artists, scientists and audiences come together in conversation.
From May 28 to 31, Dx’Hub, Doxumentale’s industry program, brings international experts from film, media, culture, science and civil society to the Atrium Tower on Potsdamer Platz. Panels, workshops and networking events provide space for interdisciplinary exchange and new collaborations. One highlight is “The Good Media Pitch,” Germany’s first film and impact program, which brings selected projects together with experts from civil society to explore potential partnerships.
Doxumentale is organized by The Good Media Network and made possible in large part by funding from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
