Mrs. President: A Portrait of Power and Intimacy

We were honored to show Mrs. President at this year’s Doxumentale — a film that portrays Zuzana Čaputová’s presidency with rare emotional depth and political nuance. Before one of the screenings, we had the chance to speak to filmmakers Barbara Janišová Feglová + Marek Šulík about proximity to power, navigating political intimacy, and what it means to document a presidency shaped by both strength and restraint.

Barbara Janišová Feglová is a producer, Marek Šulík a director. With Mrs. President, they’ve created an intimate portrait of Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová — a film about power and principle, proximity and responsibility, and what it means to hold integrity in the public eye.

Presented by Transparency International

'Mrs. President' was one of the films presented by Transparency International as part of Films 4 Transparency – the world’s first and only documentary film program dedicated to the fight against corruption.

Transparency International is a global movement active in over 100 countries, working to end corruption and hold the powerful to account. Through F4T, and as part of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC), they use the power of cinema to expose injustice, raise awareness, and connect activists, filmmakers, and audiences across borders.
