Stories of Freedom

Stories of Freedom presents powerful international productions that tell stories of courage, resistance, and the fight for freedom.

Stories of Freedom celebrates films that explore freedom, democracy and human rights through powerful storytelling. Through curated film screenings, conversations with filmmakers and directors, and discussions with freedom fighters, the program creates space for reflection, dialogue and exchange. Each screening is contextualized within the broader themes of Berlin Freedom Week and the World Liberty Congress, connecting personal stories of courage and resistance with today's global struggles for freedom and democratic values.

Stories of Freedom was initiated by The Good Media Network and Starlounge, taking place as part of Berlin Freedom Week with the support of the Senate Chancellery of Berlin and Berliner Sparkasse at the Colosseum Berlin, in partnership with Meine Schönhauser Allee. Berlin Freedom Week is a joint initiative of the Berlin Freedom Society e. V., the World Liberty Congress, the Robert Havemann Society, the Axel Springer Freedom Foundation, and visitBerlin.
