On the occasion of its second edition, the Doxumentale Festival has once again honored exceptional works in film, literature, audio, and immersive media that challenge, inspire, and deepen our understanding of the world. From powerful documentaries that expose injustice to immersive VR experiences and groundbreaking non-fiction books, this year’s award winners stand out for their artistic vision and social impact.
With tonight’s opening, Berlin’s festival for documentary storytelling launches its second edition – and at the same time says goodbye to the letter K in its name.
The Doxumentale is returning from June 12 to 22 for its second edition, once again celebrating diverse forms of non-fiction storytelling. On opening weekend, Atelier Gardens will transform into a festival campus, where documentaries, live podcasts, virtual reality, photography, and talks will come together in a vibrant programme blending contemplation and entertainment.
The second Doxumentale is kicking off on 11 June with 'Glanz & Widerstand' ('Glamour & Resistance')—an immersive foray into the life of Marlene Dietrich. From 12 to 22 June, the festival for documentary storytelling across different media will be presenting forty documentary films, ten live podcasts, readings from nine new non-fiction books, a vibrant kids’ programme, and seven VX projects.

For ten days, this festival in the heart of Berlin will once again be shining the spotlight on films, non-fiction books, podcasts, and virtual reality, celebrating the diversity of documentary storytelling.
