FAQ

General

Doxumentale is Berlin’s festival for documentary storytelling in all its forms. We bring together stories that challenge perspectives, spark discussion, and highlight the social, cultural, and political issues of our time. Nearly 50 documentary films are screened in cinemas across Berlin, including at many open-air cinemas. In addition, the program is expanded through live podcasts, a virtual reality exhibition, and non-fiction readings. Filmmakers, artists, and audiences come together to explore how non-fictional stories can broaden our understanding of the world.

Dx'26 will take place from May 27 to June 7 in Berlin. You can find this year’s program here.

Doxumentale is primarily funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. You can find all sponsors and partners here.

In 2026, the Doxumentale festival center will be located at Potsdamer Platz for the first time.

In the iconic Atrium Tower, you’ll find film screenings, an engaging children’s program, and our Dx’Hub professional conference. The Festival Lounge combines a reading corner, café atmosphere, and curated exhibitions, including collaborations with Photographers Without Borders and Tactical Tech. On the 19th floor, readings and live podcast recordings take place with views over Berlin, while the rooftop terrace invites you to enjoy drinks and networking. The info point and ticket presale are located at The Playce, where you can also discover free children’s short films, a virtual reality exhibition, and new video games. Additional screenings take place in more than ten cinemas across Berlin, with special curated events in selected locations.
