80 Angry Journalists

András Földes, Anna Kis / Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway / 2026 / 94 min

What happens when a newsroom loses its freedom and must rebuild from the ground up? As the independence of the Hungarian platform Index is threatened, the film traces the decline of one of the country’s most influential newsrooms over several years. It chronicles the steadfast resistance of journalists who refuse to bow to political pressure and tells the story of how, from the collapse, a new independent media outlet is born, where workers are united by a commitment to protect the principles of free journalism.
