Fanta is 14 living in Conakry, Guinea in West Africa. She spends every spare minute she has at acrobatics training. When the return of the country’s biggest circus star is announced, Fanta is determined to be chosen as one of the few girls who will join his troupe on tour. Each day, she is torn between caring for her sick mother, helping with housework, going to school, and doing what she loves most. Striving to meet everyone’s expectations, doubts begin to creep in and she wonders what it is she really wants.
