The film blends documentary reality with striking visuals and carefully staged scenes that bring Asllan's childhood memories from the 1950s to life.

She holds a degree in political science and studied Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin, and completed her postgraduate studies at the German Development Institute (DIE).
