The Partisan Necropolis
Chris Leslie / United Kingdom / 2025 / 70 min
Smeared with right-wing extremist slogans and left to decay, the Partisan Cemetery in divided Mostar symbolizes a bitter struggle over remembrance. Once erected as a national monument honoring young anti-fascist resistance fighters, it is now considered by many to be an unwanted relic. While the city debates its significance, families of the deceased struggle to preserve the names of their loved ones and oppose growing right-wing extremism.
