Stories from the Beauty Parlor

Transforming everyday beauty parlors into compelling lenses for documentary storytelling—where polish meets politics, self-care meets social change, and intimate conversations unveil shared struggles. Each episode offers an intimate portrait of a beauty parlor and the women* who work there, uncovering layered narratives around migration, gender, queer life, resistance, and belonging. Whether in nail salons in Pristina, hamams in Morocco, or hair salons in Ukraine, these spaces illuminate the extraordinary stories hidden within everyday rituals.
