A Provenance
Containing over nine hundred objects, Charlotte and Gustav von Klemperer owned the most extensive and important private collection of eighteenth-century Meissen porcelain in Germany. The Jewish family had to flee Germany in 1938, and the National Socialists seized the valuable collection. As an example of the fate of numerous Jewish collections during the National Socialist era, the film takes up the story of the collection’s loss. Most of it remains unaccounted for.
