First Women Filmmakers in Lithuania

First Women Filmmakers in Lithuania, presented by Meno Avilys and curated by Dr. Lina Kaminskaitė-Jančorienė, brings together six newly restored documentary films by pioneering Lithuanian women directors. Spanning five decades—from the Soviet era to the early years of independence—the program is presented in two parts. The first explores women’s everyday lives and professions, while the second highlights female artists and creators. Together, these films showcase a rich diversity of cinematic styles and offer a compelling social and cultural history shaped through women’s perspectives.
