When the streets are quiet and people are afraid to even talk about politics in Belarus, letters give an insight into feelings of pain, despair, love and hope.

Each story reveals a different facet of repression. A father lives in hiding to avoid arrest and separation from his daughter. A former criminal investigator breaks with the system and flees to Poland, where he faces repeated interrogations and growing isolation. Kasia, a student imprisoned for joining protests, turns to drawing to survive and to express what cannot be said openly. Fifty-year-old Vitold receives photographs from a friend at home: fragments of a life beyond prison walls that offer moments of freedom while revealing what is visible and what remains hidden.
