Through its close focus on an Irish family's daily struggle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Sky's the Limit renders visible the fact that Europeans with rare diseases continue to suffer from inadequate access to treatment, support and inclusion. Our impact campaign seeks to turn this around, working with governments, drug companies and communities to identify and implement sustainable solutions.
Sky's The Limit
Mirjam Strugalla, Loïc Jourdain / Irland, France, Germany / 2026 / 90 min
An Irish couple learns that all 3 of their children have Duchenne Muscular Dystophy. Instead of giving up, they face each day with humour & determination, pursuing every possible avenue to prolong their sons’ lives. They are confronted by the injustices of a global pharmaceutical industry whose profit-motive renders access to medical treatment unequal, and the failures of a public health system which leaves the family without adequate support. Sky’s the Limit explores the power of hope in the face of insurmountable obstacles and the importance of the present when the future is not guaranteed.
