#AllEyesOnIran

Screenings of Beyond the Lies across Europe shed light on what happens when the Iranian regime cuts off access to the internet. Watch the film, organise a screening — and show your solidarity.

16.01.2026

Iran's internet has been shut down for a week, and the limited information emerging from the country suggests that the situation is grave. By cutting communications, Iran’s clerical establishment is trying to silence and crush the protests.

With #AllEyesOnIran, we aim to break this deafening silence and show the reality faced by those who take to the streets. We are screening Beyond the Lies. This film examines how Iran’s nationwide internet shutdowns have enabled violence and systematic human rights violations to occur in the dark, most notably during the November 2019 protests when around 1,500 people were killed while the country was cut off from the world. Beyond the Lies brings together testimonies from survivors, families of victims, doctors, lawyers, experts and witnesses who participated in the 2021 People's Tribunal in London. This tribunal was created to document crimes and challenge the state narrative when it was impossible to obtain justice inside Iran.

Director Mohammadi explains: "Screening and watching ‘Beyond the Lies’ during these dark days is important, because the film shows that internet cuts are not technical failures, but a weapon. It documents how interrupting communication makes violence invisible. At a time when shutdowns are being used to suppress protests, watching and sharing this film is a political statement and a way to show solidarity.”

The Berlin based international documentary and media festival Doxumentale therefore joins forces with Mahnaz Mohammadi and is hosting the international online premiere on Sunday, 25 January and inviting cinemas, universities, organisations, workplaces and community initiatives worldwide to organise their own screenings. To promote accessibility and international solidarity, Beyond the Lies is available free of charge for non-commercial screenings.

International online premiere:
Sunday, 25 January 2026, 7:00 pm (CET) — followed by a live conversation with Mahnaz Mohammadi and distinguished experts. The film will be available online only at this scheduled time, as a shared, one-time screening that brings together an international community to watch and reflect together.
