02 Jun, 2026, 7.30 PM @ Galiläakirche
This D’Lounge event, devoted to dark music, finds its perfect setting in the atmospheric Galiläakirche.
The music project Black Veil will perform both before and after the screening, creating an immersive sonic backdrop for Hex, a documentary exploring the Norwegian band Witch Club Satan.
More about Black Veil – The Summoning:
Elegant Intimate Brutalism
A dark cinematic music project that unites the visceral power of heavy guitar, performed by Damian Murdoch, with the haunting elegance of the cello, played by Dalai Cellai. With their debut album “The Summoning,” they have already achieved international success. Drawing from classical music, grunge, dark ambient, black metal, and film scores, Black Veil’s compositions are distinguished by their ability to create sonic landscapes and guide the audience into the depths of human emotion.
Atmospheric, immersive, and emotionally relentless.
More about Galiläakirche:
Galiläakirche is today an independent cultural space for music, film, literature, performance, and artistic experimentation. At the same time, it serves as a place for social and neighbourhood initiatives—bringing together different scenes, generations, and perspectives.
A unique dimension of the venue was the Youth Resistance Museum, which used to be located within the church and is about to be reopened. The museum told the stories of young people who—particularly in the former GDR—resisted state control, social conformity, and political repression. Their stories speak of courage, independence, and the desire for freedom.
The coexistence of this museum with a vibrant space of contemporary subculture creates a powerful dialogue between past and present. Historical acts of youth resistance meet today’s forms of cultural expression and self-determination. In this way, Galiläakirche becomes a place where memory and contemporary culture intersect—through music, film, and artistic practice.
Its location on Rigaer Straße further shapes the spirit of the place. For decades, the street has been associated with alternative culture, political debate, and urban countercultures in Berlin. In this environment, Galiläakirche becomes a unique meeting point—situated between memory and the present, neighbourhood and nightlife, history and living culture.
