Dragonerareal
The Dragonerareal is a place of participation, co-determination, and urban solidarity. Located in the Rathausblock in Kreuzberg, the Dragonerareal was repeatedly slated for privatization at the highest possible price by the Federal Agency for Real Estate. A vigilant civil society raised awareness and, together with local authorities, successfully opposed the sale. Neighborhood residents, political initiatives, and community groups called for a shared space on the site—one dedicated to social, cultural, and political events. The vision: a non-commercial, self-managed meeting place for exchange, collaboration, and grassroots engagement.
