Damien Hauser

Damien Hauser is a Swiss-Kenyan filmmaker, writer and director, born in Zurich in 2001. He began making films at the age of seven. His work focuses on fictional storytelling, shaped by cross-cultural narratives and has quickly gained international recognition. His debut feature Blind Love was released on Netflix and Canal+, followed by THEO, a Fast Track award winner of the Zurich Film Foundation, which premiered at PÖFF in Tallinn. His breakout film After the Long Rains screened at major festivals including Red Sea, IFFR and BFI London and received multiple awards. His latest feature, Memory of Princess Mumbi, premiered at Giornate degli Autori in Venice and TIFF Toronto and won the Critics’ Jury Award at the Zurich Film Festival, alongside a Special Prize at the Swiss Film Awards. In 2024, he founded Hauserfilm, a production company through which he continues to bring captivating stories to life on the big screen.
