Visualizing the Invisible: AI Between Storytelling and Ethic
29 May, 2026, 3.30 PM @ Festival Centre: Atrium Tower
Event language: English
What can you do when there are no images?
This session explores how AI can be used to visualize documentary stories – from reconstructing past events to representing inaccessible or invisible realities. It focuses on practical tools and methods for creating scenes, atmospheres, and narrative spaces without relying on traditional archival footage. Through case studies and discussion, the session examines how AI-driven visualization can be integrated into documentary storytelling, while also addressing its aesthetic and ethical implications.
Participants will gain insight into workflows, tools, and creative strategies that can be applied to their own projects. Following the main session, participants will split into two parallel groups: a hands-on workshop exploring how images and sound can be generated, shaped, and reimagined—without losing their emotional truth. At the same time, a second, more discursive session will focus on the legal and ethical questions surrounding AI-generated imagery in documentary practice.
