Video Game: The Berlin Apartment
The Berlin Apartment brings a century of German history to life within the walls of a single apartment. Taking on the role of a craftsperson restoring its aging rooms, you will uncover traces left behind by former residents, finding love, loss, upheaval, and resilience. With every discovery, a new story unfolds with new characters, new atmospheres, and new moments in time. Meanwhile, the apartment itself remains unchanged, a silent witness at the center of a rapidly shifting world.
Additionally, in cooperation with the cinegaming collective GAMERAUSCH, we will screen selected passages of the game on the big screen. Together with film scholar Angela Jouini from Freie Universität Berlin, we will examine the diverse representations of Berlin's history in film and games, and enter into conversation with the developers of the game. The screening will be complemented by the short film DIE AUSSICHT (BRD 1966) by Kurt Krigar.
